Warriors ready for a new season

Connacht’s only American Football team, the Galway Warriors, kick off the new season on May 1 with a home fixture.

The Warriors, who were runners-up last season, are looking to go one better this year with help from the growing home support.

Captain Darragh O’Farrell says the support of the people of Galway is "priceless" to the Warriors.

"The enthusiasm we have received since 2012 has propelled us to where we are now and we are really looking forward to the new season and meeting new supporters.”

The opening game on May 1 will see the Warriors take on the Donegal/Derry Vipers at home in St Mary’s College, St Mary’s Road.

The team is currently recruiting players, coaches and various support roles. All fitness and experience levels are welcome.
