ITAG are delighted to announce James Stanbridge as one of our key speakers at this year’s AtlanTec Festival. He will be speaking at the “Women in Tech” segment on May 25th. Hailing from Hertfordshire in England he recently returned from China and Singapore where he resided for 10 years to Europe. As VP of Declara he will head up their business development and expansion in Europe as well as Asia Pacific.
James has enjoyed an illustrious career to date; just some of his achievements include building and designing the first Yamaha motor website and intranets across the UK and Europe-wide and taking the lead in building Microsoft’s cloud service platforms in Asia. In addition he is currently CTO for a Singapore based NGO “Touch Sala Bai” that fights human trafficking and travels to Cambodia to support Sala Bai a school for young women at risk of trafficking.
Speaking on what parents can do to encourage their daughters to consider the Tech Industry as a potential career path he commented “the choices I want my daughter to be able to make are encapsulated in the idea that she can expect her brother, Father, boyfriends and peers to defend her right to choose to have a family, get married, take her husband’s name, be a scientist, mathematician, and engineer…. Equality of choice is what matters - equal to choose without judgment - which applies as much to what her mother thinks as what her father thinks!” In response to the benefits of introducing more women to the Tech industry he stated “I want my employees to reflect the markets we are serving” and listed; iPhones, TV and Minecraft as just a few examples of true cross gender engagement.
And something you may not have known about James, he took up running as a 51 yr old - and has completed more than 600km in training and 2 x 10k Events including the Angkor Wat 10k in Cambodia last December.
