Connacht captain John Muldoon, the only current player to have enjoyed success over Saturday's European Challenge Cup opponents Grenoble, says Connacht have never been in a better place to grab success.
"It's great to be involved in a knock-out competition. When you get here, it's a one-off game, a one-off opportunity, and with the carrot of a semi-final dangling inf font of us, we are really looking forward to it.
"We have never won a trophy, we would love to get our hands on one, and we have put ourselves in a good position so it would be rude not try to take it."
Muldoon says while some of the "older fells were feeling a little sore" these days, the Sportsground is an enjoyable place to be.
"Believe you me it's an easy to come in the morning. When you are winning games, it's easy to come in here, there' s a good buzz around the place."
Muldoon, who would cherish silverware at this time in his career, says if Connacht finish the season on May 7 it will be a "disappointment".
"I spoke in the dressing room after Leinster and said, 'yes it's nice to have the win, nice to be celebrating, but if we finish on May 7 then what has it all been for?' Yes, we want to push on, be there at the business end, put ourselves in a good position - in a quarter final and joint top of the league.
"With three games, we have our destiny our own hands. We are not waiting for Leinster to get us in the Champions Cup, not waiting on anybody else, our destiny is in our own hands, and if we are good enough we will be there at the end of May, certainly where we are sitting at the moment, we will be disappointed. "
