The luxurious and award winning g Hotel has recently appointed Damien O’ Riordan as general manager to one of Ireland’s most fashionable five star properties. Damien has built a career for himself working in a selection of the most renowned establishments across Ireland and the United States of America and now plans to draw on these experiences to create the ultimate hospitality experience for guests, both locally and internationally at the g hotel.
With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, Mr O’Riordan first completed a Diploma in Hospitality Management from the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology and joined the team at the g after four years at Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort, where he worked as an influential Assistant General Manager. Prior to this, he spent more than eight years working with the Ritz Carlton Hotel Group in Virginia, California, Washington DC, and Jamaica, where he was a significant asset at management level.
A native of Cork city, Mr O’Riordan and his family have now made Galway their home and reside at Furbo. As General Manager, he is responsible for the overall operations of the g, which varies from overseeing the various aspects of the hotel, to ultimately maintaining brand management of the g.
A priority for Mr O’Riordan in his new role is to build on the regional profile of the g, not only introducing the people of Galway to this magnificent property on their doorstep, but to visitors from all over the world. The g has also become involved in a number of local, charitable and business organisations and is fast becoming a cornerstone of community life in Galway.
Speaking about his recent appointment, Damien O’Riordan commented “Joining the team at the g has been nothing but a positive experience. We continually strive to offer unrivalled standards for our guests and provide the ultimate hospitality experience for each and every visitor from the moment they walk into the hotel.”
Designed by Philip Treacy, the five star g Hotel truly is a unique hospitality not only for Galway but for Ireland.
