Bluebird Care launches massive recruitment drive for healthcare assistants

Local home care service is offering free QQI training

Due to the phenomenal growth in demand for its homecare services Bluebird Care has vacancies for both full and part-time healthcare assistants in Galway city and county. The company is launching a major recruitment drive this week which will run for the rest of 2016.

Bluebird Care also realises that the cost of becoming a qualified healthcare assistant is prohibitive for many people and is a barrier to entering the industry. So to help as many people as possible to get a rewarding career it is offering incentives to new employees hired during 2016 which include free QQI Level 5 modules and interest free educational loans. This offer is run through their very popular From Training to a Job programme which has been so successful that it is now running additional training days to handle the demand.

Recruitment manager with Bluebird Care, Martina Molloy, said: “This is an opportunity not to be missed by people seeking a recognised qualification and a job at the same time, it can all happen in a matter of a few short weeks. I wish it had been available when I started working in this industry.”

The multi-award winning Bluebird Care first opened its doors in Galway on October 1 2008 and has since become one of the most successful and respected providers of homecare in the area. It now employs 145 staff. The business enjoys a very low level of staff turnover with many staff members working with the company since its inception. Low staff turnover is important in the homecare industry, as customers expect and deserve ongoing continuity of care, which is what Bluebird Care strives to deliver on a daily basis.

Care manager Carolyn Corless said: “Bluebird Care is an extremely successful business and I firmly believe that our success is down to having a sincere respect for both staff and customers alike. This is borne out by the fact that our staff turnover is running at just three per cent per annum, while the national industry average is 11 per cent. Our customer base continues to grow every month since the day we opened our doors for business. Of course excellent service delivery is a must for any business to achieve the level of success and growth we are currently achieving.”

Bluebird Care is a HSE approved homecare supplier since 2008, and is ISO9001 and Q Mark certified. It also provides homecare services privately to individuals who wish to remain at home and in their community for all of their lives.
