Nissan Ireland has welcomed the news that its brand ambassador Rob Heffernan is to be awarded the Olympic bronze medal for the 50km walk from the London Games in 2012.
“Nissan is delighted to congratulate Rob and his family on their success. Rob is one of Ireland’s finest athletes and we are delighted that he has now added an Olympic medal to the European and World medals that he already holds,” said James McCarthy, CEO of Nissan Ireland.
Nissan has been supporting and working with Rob and Marian Heffernan as brand ambassadors since 2015 and recently produced a short film providing a unique insight into their drive to achieve their dream of winning an Olympic medal.
The film explores what it takes to succeed at the top flight of sport and the motivating factors behind Rob’s bid to achieve success at his fifth Olympics this summer, with stunning footage of his rigorous training regime shot at Fota Island in his native Cork.
