Shopify’s remote working initiative proves popular with Galway homeworkers

Shopify, the cloud-based, multichannel commerce platform designed for small and mediumsized businesses, reports huge interest in its remote working initiative.

As a result of its success, the company is now planning to recruit for another 20 positions.

Merchants use Shopify to design, set up and manage their stores across multiple sales channels, including web, mobile, social media, marketplaces, and popup shops.

The Shopify platform was engineered for reliability and scale, using enterprise level technology made available to businesses of all sizes. Shopify currently powers more than 243,000 businesses in approximately 150 countries, including Budweiser, Red Bull, and Tesla Motors, among many others.

“Since establishing our customer service operations in Ireland in May last year, the remote working option that we offer our Guru team has proved extremely popular, allowing staff to have a rewarding career in a fastpaced environment while working from the comfort of home or any other suitable location, without the hassle and expense of commuting to work,” says Andrew Hind, talent acquisition lead at Shopify. “We currently have 70 staff on our Guru team and we’re delighted to be in a position to grow it further at this stage, bringing it well over the 50 staff envisaged when we announced last year.”

The Guru team at Shopify supports shop owners around the clock on the telephone, email and chat. The company is looking for talented people to join its growing remote Guru team in Galway. For more details on these roles see the careers page at shopify.com/careers
