Climate congress at NUI Galway

Weather change in Ireland is the theme of the second Climate Congress to be hosted at NUI Galway next week.

The college's Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security Society, will host the congress on Tuesday April 5 in Áras na Mac Léinn from 11.30am to 5pm.

Speakers include: Professor Peadar Kirby, professor emeritus of international politics and rublic policy, University of Limerick; Emer Cosgrove, climate leader with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project; and James Nix, director of Brussels-based non-profit Green Budget Europe.

The speakers will discuss the direct causes and consequences of climate change for Ireland, and potential solutions.
