Irish International Hotel and Catering School launching a new course this spring

The IIHCS recognises that there is a chronic shortage of qualified chefs in Ireland and this is particularly true in the west. After talking to a number of professional bodies and restaurant owners the IIHCS is pleased to launch its Spring level 5 (QQI major award ) programme, which will begin on April 18. This is a 16 week full-time programme followed by a period of placement within specially selected kitchens in the area and working with committed chefs who will ensure that you continue to learn while practising the skills learned in the training kitchen.

The school, which is located in Salthill, offers all tuition in small groups which ensures that students receive individual attention from highly qualified and experienced tuition staff. Completion of this course will allow you to progress to the one year level 6 professional cookery programme in September 2016, or begin working in the hospitality industry.

To date, all graduates have successfully either entered the workplace or have continued their education at degree level with many of them gaining entry into year 2 of their degree programme (once they have fulfilled all the criteria of the individual institution ).

The IIHCS was nominated as Cookery School of the Year at the restaurant awards organised by the Restaurant Association of Ireland for the last two years.
