Skillnets funded IMI diploma programmes available to SMEs at a fraction of the normal cost

ManagementWorks, a Skillnets-funded initiative, is offering SME business owners and managers an opportunity to participate in a postgraduate IMI diploma programme at a fraction of the normal cost. Skillnets is subsidising four Postgraduate IMI Diploma Programmes in 2016 under the ManagementWorks initiative, including a programme in Galway.

Each of these programmes is highly subsidised and is available to SMEs for only €3,000 per person. Brian Colleran of ManagementWorks says the organisation wants to support SMEs that recognise the link between developing management capability and improving business performance. "One of the ways we can achieve this is to make some of the IMI’s world class programmes more affordable for SMEs. Another is to make these programmes available outside Dublin."

The next IMI Diploma programme on offer in Galway through ManagementWorks is the IMI Diploma in Management, which begins in April. It is an 18-day taught programme delivered three days per month over six months. It is an accredited postgraduate programme at level 9 of the national framework of qualifications and forms part of the IMI’s master of business framework. The goal is to engage business owners and managers with the latest management thinking and practice.

Mr Colleran says this is the fourth time that ManagementWorks will offer an IMI Diploma programme in Galway. "Some of the participants on our first diploma programme in 2013 went on to complete two further IMI diplomas through ManagementWorks and will graduate later this year with a Master of Business Studies."
