This evening (Wednesday Mar 16 ), from 7pm, 1916 The Rebellion, a major documentary on the seismic events of Easter Week a century ago, narrated by Liam Neeson, will be shown on a outdoor screen at the Galway City Museum, Spanish Arch.
The screening will include footage of the entire Dublin gala at the National Concert Hall, from the red carpet arrivals, live musical performance, through the documentary, to the final sign-off. The original score, composed by Patrick and Frank Cassidy, will be performed live by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Along with the screening, there will be entertainment from sean-nós dancer Emma O’Sullivan and a range of other visual and musical treats.
The screening is organised by the Galway City Council in association with Ireland 2016, and is part of the Galway St Patrick’s Festival and the Galway City 2016 Centenary Commemoration Programme.
