•Galway Bay Sailing club will run a series of talks over the next three weeks in the clubhouse in Renville, Oranmore. Dr Kieran Hickey, from the Department of Geography in NUI Galway, an expert on climate change, will focus his talk on global warming and in particular changing wind patterns. •Two Galway players were rewarded for their soccer prowess at the 19th Eircom/FAI International Soccer Awards announced at the weekend. Niamh Fahey, the former Salhtill Devon star and Galway Gaelic footballer who is now cross-channel with Arsenal, won the Senior Women's award, while Athenry’s Seamus Crowe won the Junior International award. Eighteen awards were announced including the Senior International Player accolade which was awarded to Kevin Doyle.
