New media experts to explore the future of Gaeilge

Major digital seminar takes place this week

Experts in virtual reality, computer science, linguistics and interactive media will explore the digital future of the Irish language at Greasán na Meán, an all day seminar, which takes place on Thursday March 10.

Speakers at the seminar will examine the potential for new technologies to grow the Irish language community online, and how to promote the development of an international, virtual, Irish language community. Among the guests taking part will be Kevin Scannell, professor of mathematics and computer science at St Louis University, USA; and Dr Aodhán Mac Cormaic, Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, who will preview the soon to be published new digital plan for the Irish language.
