Calling all afternoon tea lovers to Hotel Meyrick this Easter

Hotel Meyrick, Galway’s luxurious four star city centre hotel, is renowned for its afternoon tea service, and this Easter the hotel pastry team will be celebrating the world of chocolate.

Throughout March the hotel is joining forces with independent artisan chocolatier, Hazel Mountain Chocolates, to develop a very special chocolate inspired traditional afternoon tea.

Available from Tuesday March 1 to Thursday March 31 inclusive, seven days a week from 1pm to 6pm, this specially crafted afternoon tea is €17 per person, or €30 for two guests. It is the perfect treat to enjoy this Mother’s Day or to buy as a gift voucher for your mum.

Afternoon tea is the perfect indulgence for Easter. Book a table and savour delicate finger sandwiches, freshly made scones, and signature chocolate treats, served with a large pot of tea or coffee. The Hazel Mountain Chocolate afternoon tea will feature a selection of the delights such as pecan and salted caramel cake; milk chocolate, pistachio, and orange fudge; chocolate dipped meringue with fresh berries; white chocolate and cranberry blondies; and dark chocolate and mint tigers with chocolate ganache topping.

What better way to spend an afternoon catching up with friends, spoiling your mum, celebrating a recent engagement or baby shower, or sharing some quality time with your other half. Why not make it an extra special occasion and order the sparkling afternoon tea option at €22 for one or €42 for two guests.

Hazel Mountain Chocolates is one of only a handful of boutique bean-to-bar chocolate makers in Europe. Its stoneground chocolate factory is located at the foothills of the Burren, on the Wild Atlantic Way, and has recently been listed in the top 10 food destinations in Ireland. Much like Hazel Mountain, Hotel Meyrick on Eyre Square is known for its fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, making this collaboration between the two a perfect fit.

Cian O’Broin, general manager of Hotel Meyrick, said he was “delighted to have the opportunity to share artisan Irish produce and Hazel Mountain’s expert produce with guests of the hotel. Our afternoon tea service holds a very special place in the hearts of Galwegians and visitors to the city. Our Hazel Mountain Chocolate inspired afternoon tea continues our history of excellent service and tradition, which is proudly upheld since opening our doors in 1852.”

Don’t miss out, enjoy an afternoon of chocolate delights in the heart of Galway city this March. Hotel Meyrick’s chocolate afternoon tea must be booked in advance.
