May 2016 sees the arrival of the AtlanTec Festival to Galway brought to you by the Information Technology Association of Galway (ITAG ). ITAG is a long-established non-profit association with extensive links to the technology industry and a commitment to growing and strengthening the information technology sector in Galway and the West of Ireland.
The AtlanTec Festival is a celebration of Galway’s diverse technology culture. It will consists of a series of technology themed events, of interest to industry professionals, community groups and those in education. The Atlantec Festival will showcase the latest and next generation technologies in Galway while simultaneously promoting the West as a technology hub, fostering innovation and collaboration.
The event which runs from May 16–29 across will be held in a variety of prestigious locations in Galway including NUIG, GMIT and some of the top locally-based technology companies.
At the core of the festival lies the AtlanTec Conference; a two day knowledge building event designed for software practitioners. The theme is “The Art of Software Development” focusing on Security, Internet-of-Things (IoT ), Big Data, Cloud, Machine Learning and Micro Services, with top speakers from the US, and Europe.
The conference is supported by a series of technology and fun events across the month of May and offers attendees networking opportunities with different technology communities in Galway and the chance to hear from world class software industry experts.
