Castlegar GAA Club is holding its annual Open Day, for the registration of new and existing members, this Saturday, March 5, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A free fun-filled afternoon is planned at the clubhouse with face-painting, balloon artists and lots of games and activities for all your family to enjoy.

New members and existing members alike are encouraged to come along this Saturday for an entertaining and exciting day at the clubhouse. While the children are enjoying themselves with fun-filled games, the parents will have the chance to relax with a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and have time to speak with the coaches.

Castlegar is the most successful club in the history of Galway hurling with a record seventeen Senior County Championships. They were also Galway’s first All-Ireland Club Champions in 1980. Castlegar’s camogie team have emulated this success in recent years capturing the All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship in 2013. Additionally, 2015 saw their juvenile hurling teams competing at ‘A’ standard in the County Championships, winning the U16-A Championship Cup, the U15-A Championship Cup and the U14-A Championship Shield.

Their facilities at Doughiska Road, Merlin Park, include a clubhouse with squash courts, a racquetball court, a player’s gym and a large hall. Outside they have a main pitch, juvenile training pitch and an outdoor hurling alley. Information regarding their upcoming projects will be available to parents and adult members on the day.

Come along to Castlegar GAA Club for an exciting and memorable family day out this Saturday, March 5th, between 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. It is an event you won’t want to miss!
