Sinn Féin have expressed "hope, not confidence" of taking a seat. Fianna Fail are bullish at the moment, declaring it can take two. The Social Democrats have grounds for optimism. The remaining candidates are all between 0.04% (Independent Patrick Feeney ) to 2.79% (Green's Seamus Sheridan ). As expected, Ó Cuív wil be returned. SF are conscious that the party needs transfers and are hoping Ó Cuív will have enough of a surplus to bosst Ó Clochartaigh's overall tally.
