Mr C brings the SuperFreq clubnight to The Loft

MR C, once the lead vocalist with The Shamen, who had hits in the early 1990s with 'Ebeneezer Goode' and 'Love Sex Intelligence', and who today is recognised as one of the world's leading DJs, is coming to Galway.

On Friday March 4 from 10pm, The Loft at Seven will play host to SuperFreq, a club night created by Mr C, with DJ sets from Mr C and SuperFreq cohort David Scuba.

Mr C (aka Richard West ) was born in London and has been DJing since he was 16. Recording with Eddie Richards as Myster-E in 1987, inspired him to learn more about house and techno, eventually leading him to organise, promote, and become resident DJ at a variety of major clubnights, including Subterrain (1995-2002 ), and since 2002, Superfreq. Superfreq functions quarterly in London and does regular events in Los Angeles, as well as bi-monthly events in Calais, in France, and other locations across the globe.

He has also presented shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA, and BBC, and is founder and owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings, and founder and co-owner of the Superfreq label. As well as solo recordings, Mr C has also recorded as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf, and with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek.

Raised in New York during the 1990s on a diet of underground house music, David Scuba came into his own as an influential A&R for US labels like Timeless Groove and Real Music Deal. Today he produces original material for Superfreq, with his reinterpretation of Mr C’s 'I’m Gonna Give You Some' becoming the label’s best-selling track to date.
