Brian Deady - Ireland's new soul star for Róisín Dubh

BRIAN DEADY has been declared Ireland's "new soul star," by The Irish Times and "our favourite act in Ireland” by no less a legend than Nile Rodgers of Chic. Clearly this is an artist on the rise.

Brian Deady released his second album, Non Fiction, at the start of this year and has seen it showered with critical praise. The Sunday Times declared it "remarkable"; The Irish Times said it should "set his course directly for stardom"; and it also earned further praise from Nialler9. The album was preceeded by the 'Clap Both My Hands' single. It was previewed by Skream on BBC Radio 1 and featured as the opening theme song for the 2015 RTE Sports Awards, eventually scoring a No 1 in the Irish r'n'b singles charts.

The album and single are the follow-up to Brian's acclaimed Interview album, which earned him support from KCRW in Los Angeles, and led to him sharing stages with De La Soul, Janelle Monae, Candi Staton, and Chic.

Brian Deady plays the Róisín Dubh on Saturday at 9pm. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
