Sinn Féin to run candidates in every ward

Sinn Féin will be running one candidate in each ward of Galway city as well as two in Connemara and one in Oranmore.

The party held the official launch of its candidates in The Westwood Hotel on Tuesday. In Connemara, Trevor Ó Clochartaigh and Kenneth Coyne will stand.

Mr Ó Clochartaigh was a television director with TG4 and RTÉ and was series producer of Ros na Rún. He is now the manager of Cumas in Rosmuc. Mr Coyne, is an apprentice plumber from Renvyle.

Anna Marley will run in Oranmore. A law graduate of NUI, Galway, she previously ran for Sinn Féin in Clare in the last general election.

In the city, SF will run one candidate in each ward. Newcastle’s Mike Joyce will run in Galway City Central. Tom Hanley, a graduate of NUIG, where he received a Masters in International Human Rights Law, will run in Galway City West.

Martin Concannon was selected to run in Galway City East some weeks ago. The party has already selected Cllr Dermot Connolly to run again in the Ballinasloe ward; Eoin McCormack in Loughrea; and Grainne Morahan in Tuam.
