A NEW monthly jazz night, Killer Joe’s Jazz Club, presented by The Galway Jazz Quartet, will open in The Side Bar, Monroe's Live, on Sunday February 28.
The quartet - Radko Vykuka (tenor saxophone ), David Lyons (guitar ), Bosch Joyce (drums ), Dave Mathieson (double bass ), and Noreena Gill (vocals ) - play standards by Miles Davis, Art Blakley, Benny Golson, and Grant Green, as well as laid back instrumentals and bebop. Noreena released the EP, Something About You, in 2014. It enjoyed airplay on RTÉ Radio 1, Raidio NaGaeltacha, and KCLR. The singer continues to write new songs.
Doors are at 8pm. Admission is free.
