KÍLA, THE acclaimed Irish-trad/world music fusion band, make a welcome return to Monroe's Live, where they will be in concert on Wednesday March 16 at 10pm.
The band are currently touring their most recent album, Suas Síos, which typifies their energy, passion, and musical intelligence. Over the last 18 months, Kila have collaborated with French composer Bruno Coulais to create the soundtrack to the film, Songs of the Sea, from Kilkenny’s Cartoon Saloon. Kíla also composed the soundtrack for the documentary about the Shannon, entitled Ireland’s Secret River. The documentary was nominated for an Emmy award, while the soundtrack won the Best Music award at Berlin’s Green Screen Festival.
