Interskalactic to bring the ska to The Loft

INTERSKALACTIC, HAILED as “the future of ska in Ireland” by Ryan Tubridy, return to The Loft at Seven, on Friday February 26 at 9pm, for a night of big band flavour to first-wave, old-school, Jamaican ska.

Interskalactic's set will feature original compositions, covers by classic ska artists such as The Skatalites, Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, and Prince Buster, as well as ska versions of popular hits. The band have played The Late Late Show, Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Cork Jazz Festival, and supported Madness in Dublin's 3Arena and Belfast's Odyssey Arena, Belfast

Also on the bill are Galway's The Clandestinos, whose music is inspired by classic Jamaican roots reggae, British ska and punk, and Latin American music. The line-up features acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, and a trio of saxophone, trumpet and trombone. Expect classic roots favourites, ska and punk-reggae, Latin, and a hint of dub.

DJ Will Softly will spin the decks before and after the live shows. Tickets are €10 in advance from www.sevenbridgestreet.ie or on the door on the night.
