MAD ABOUT Mark, a night of music and merriment in memory of the late, very great, Mark Logan, takes place at the Róisín Dubh this Saturday, and features a stellar line-up of local and national musicians and performers.
Friends, family, DJs, musicians, and dancers will take to the Róisín stage on what is Mark's birthday weekend, and also raise money for Jigsaw Galway. The line-up is The Disconauts, with a full horn section; DJs Billy Scurry, Get Down Edits, Daithí, John Conneely, Anthony Collins, Shake! DJ Ray; while Mark's brother Bernie Logan, will curate an open mic session upstairs. Expect soul, funk, house, disco, folk, and blues.
Jigsaw is a free, non-judgmental and confidential support service for those aged 15 to 25, in Galway city and county. It provides guidance and support for young people going through a difficult or distressing time.
"As well as being a talented musician and wonderful person Mark's passion was mental health issues in Ireland," said Padraic Disconaut. "We're really glad to be able to give all monies raised on the night to Jigsaw Galway who do such great work as a free and confidential support service for young people."
Doors are at 9pm. Tickets are €10. Those who cannot attend but still want to donate can buy a non attendance ticket option via www.roisindubh.net where they can donate €10.
