Reggae-rock from The Radix @ Monroe's

THE RADIX, an energetic reggae-rock trio fronted by dreadlocked guitar virtuoso Rion Zion, take to the stage of Monroe's Backstage Bar on Thursday February 18 at 10pm.

The band, completed by drummer Keith Horan and bassist Joe Choi, have been compared to a cross-fertilization of Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley. The Radix's live set mixes reggae and rock favourites, interpretations of current chart tunes, and previews of their original songs from their forthcoming debut album, Reggaelution.

“We love playing Monroe's," says Joe Choi. "The Backstage Bar is perfect for us because it's intimate without being too cramped and they have an excellent in-house team! We have a lot of musical friends in Galway and we're hoping to bring in some special guests for the Monroe's gigs so we can create a really unique atmosphere.”

Admission is €5. See www.monroes.ie
