FOR LITTLE John Nee and The Caledonia Highly Strung Orchestra, the boundaries between fiction and reality are a movable feast, it is hard to tell whether life imitates art or visa versa.
In such a topsy turvey world, the only thing we can be certain of is that wherever LJ and his band play, there will be a sense of immediacy and adventure, high drama, blistering good music and hilarious consequences.
Live performances of their album, Songs from the Lough Swilly Delta, took on a momentum of their own last year and quickly developed into a show featuring stories, new songs and improvisations; bringing that show to Napoli last spring inspired 'Highly Strung in Napoli', and at the Errigal Arts Festival they created a mini tour, 'Highly Strung Around the Delta'.
As a result, LJ and the band will give a show in the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday January 16 at 8pm entitled 'Highly Strung at Courthouse Square'. Expect a special evening where magic is guaranteed and there will be enough good vibes to get you through the winter. Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
