The future of the Aras Mhic Dara Community Nursing Unit, in An Cheathru Rua, looks secure following an allocation of €850,000, a development which has been welcomed by Fine Gael Galway West TD Seán Kyne.
The funding is part of an overall €1.55 million in capital investment for the refurbishment and upgrade of the 47 bed facility, which serves south Connemara, in order that it meets HIQA standards. The refurbishment and upgrade is due to be complete in the first quarter of this year and fully operational by the second quarter of the year.
Dep Kyne said, “The investment is a clear commitment by the HSE to the future of Aras Mhic Dara for South Connemara.”
