ROPES journal to raise funds for Simon

ROPES, THE literary journal produced by the students of NUI Galway's MA in literature and publishing, is seeking donations to cover the costs of its upcoming 24th volume.

The theme of the 2016 journal, which will be out in the spring, is 'Independence'. It will feature essays, poetry, prose, and artwork about exploring, gaining, losing, rejecting, and sustaining independence.

To cover production costs, the publishers are seeking to raise €1,500 through the Irish based crowdfunding website Fund It. Donations of more than €15 are eligible for prizes, including crowdfunder exclusive bookmarks and a personalized thank-you in the journal itself.

As well as helping to showcase up-and-coming literary and artistic talent, donations will help support the Galway Simon Community, as all proceeds from ROPES will go towards Simon, which provides housing, support and healthcare services for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless.
