Mullery auctioneers has reported an exceptionally busy 2015 in the residential property market with a notable rise in property prices throughout the city and county.
The agent reported high levels of demand in both the city and county and this, coupled with a limited supply of housing, has led to a rise in prices.
According to Mike Mullery of Mullery auctioneers, there is very good interest in all property types including apartments which are being purchased by both owner occupiers and investors.
As usual, well located properties attracted enormous interest and the agent sold numerous such properties by private treaty including a magnificent detached residence on Canal Road Upper, as well as a smaller semidetached house on Canal Road. The agents also sold a number of properties in Salthill, including the sale of what is without doubt one of the finest apartments in Galway, a two bedroom penthouse boasting panoramic views in the Croit na Mara development.
Other sales in Salthill included a magnificent detached residence known as Atlantic Heights in the popular Cashelmara development. The agents also handled the sale of a terraced home on Loyola Place which attracted enormous interest, as well as a house in Glenard Road and a number of apartments.
All other areas of the city have also proved extremely popular including Knocknacarra, Roscam, Renmore, Newcastle, Ballybrit, the city centre, Headford Road, and Dangan, where the agent recorded a number of exceptional prices. Some semidetached homes in Knocknacarra were sold for well in excess of €300,000.
Outside of the city the agents sold numerous detached properties as well as a number of homes in Oranmore, which is, as always, very popular. A detached home in Bluebell Woods attracted substantial interest when offered for sale in August.
The agent also handled a number of ‘off-market’ sales for private clients who did not want to offer their properties on the open market.
Mike Mullery of Mullery auctioneers expects that the level of demand and interest will continue into 2016. “We have large numbers of genuine buyers seeking properties throughout the city and county and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who may be considering selling their property in 2016," he said.
