Communications consultant and broadcaster Orlaith Carmody will be in Easons Bookshop, Shop Street, Galway City from 12.30pm to 2pm on Wednesday December 16 to sign copies of her new book ‘Perform as a Leader’. Members of the public will have the opportunity to meet Orlaith who will be joined by her husband and business partner, Gavin Duffy of RTE’s Dragons’ Den.
Perform as a Leader is a ‘how to’ book with a difference. It not only gives practical tips on presenting and public speaking, appearing on the media, conducting brilliant negotiations and lots more, but is a fast paced interesting read, relevant to everyone with an interest in personal development or leadership.
Orlaith and Gavin are regular commentators on media and business on TV3 and RTE, drawing on the experience of the business they have run together for the past 20 years - Mediatraining.ie - advising and coaching Taoisigh, leadership teams and Ireland’s top CEOs on their communications strategies.
“I wrote the book because I wanted to bring some brilliant material to a wider audience” says Orlaith. “I can’t get to the top of every training room, or work with all the people I would like to. But I have really valuable insights, gleaned from working with some of the country’s greatest leaders, which I wanted to share. They will be useful to people in all kinds of roles, as will the online programme which will follow soon.”
The book is published by Ballpoint Press and is on sale at Easons and other good bookshops and on Amazon, priced at €14.99. View www.performasaleader.com Members of the public are welcome to come along, purchase a copy of the book and have it personally signed by Orlaith.
