Corinthians' struggle continues

Corinthians are urging all supporters to head to Cloonacauneen Park on Saturday to boost their side's efforts to get off the bottom of the Ulster Bank League division 2A table.

Corinthians will host Cashel in this final outing before the Christmas break (2.30pm ) level on points with Thomond, who have a game in hand.

Saturday's visitors are currently third in the table, having recorded their sixth win in the league when they overcame Corinthians last weekend by 43-6 in the first of these back-to-back fixtures. As a result Cashel, having suffered losses in their three previous outings, will be brimming with confidence ahead of Saturday's rematch.

Cashel got off to a flyer helped by luck last weekend. Corinthians, who were putting pressure on their opponents, were undone with an interception by Conor Holland who set up flanker Eamon Connolly for an excellent touchdown, which fullback Pat O'Connor converted.

Corinthians, however, replied with a penalty from Pat O'Toole, but another penalty for the home side after 30 minutes, and a second try put Cashel into the driving seat.

Corinthians had the last say in the first half when O'Toole slotted another penalty, but that was as good as it got for the Galway side.

It was all Cashel in the second half playing with the elements as they ran in another four tries.
