Aerial thrills in Fidget Feet’s Catch Me

THE EXHILARATING aerial circus company Fidget Feet swoop into the Black Box next week, for one night only, with Catch Me, their thrilling version of Red Riding Hood.

In this captivating show, Red Riding Hood takes flight in a magical virtual world. A forest of ropes binds a meeting of strangers in search of the truth. Watch amazed as Red Riding Hood and the Wolf then swing high above the audience in that strange forest of cord and cable. They are lost in the deep and the dark. Catch Me explores the ancient moral story of what was first called Little Red Riding Hood. Someone is lying and someone is pretending. This is a vibrant aerial dance duet incorporating film and original music to explore the darker origins of fairy tales. Catch Me jumps in and wonders how the tangled maze of childood versus adulthood might work today.

No two performances of Catch Me are ever the same as visual projections and an original score are mixed in real time like a painting, coming alive around the characters. Catch Me is full of Fidget Feet’s trademark stunning aerial acrobatics. It’s mesmerising mix of aerial feats, dance and theatre. The show is suitable for ages 12 up.

Catch Me is written, designed and directed by Jym Daly (who also did the music ) and performed by Chantal McCormick, Lee Claydon and Kat Cooley. It is at the Black Box on Friday December 11 at 7.30pm. Tickets are €15/12 through the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
