The Leisure Centre at Clayton Hotel Galway are celebrating this week having achieved the Diamond Award at the Ireland Active National White Flag Quality Standards Awards.
These awards are the main social event in the calendar year for those working in the leisure industry, and the feature was attended by over 250 delegates.
The White Flag National Quality Standard, grades facilities’ operational standards, similar to the Blue Flag award which classifies Ireland’s beaches, and it is fast becoming the most sought after accolade in the leisure industry.
It is the only industry specific award for the Irish Leisure and Spa Industry. The White Flag is based on four essential areas when operating any leisure centre or spa: Safety, Hygiene, Customer Engagement and HR.
The standard is designed to encourage continuous improvement.
Leisure & Fitness Manager at Clayton Hotel Galway Clare Gohery said that a Diamond award is a fantastic achievement.
“It is the highest accolade for any hotel. It will help recognise the great standards that members like us achieve, but also the improvements that we make year on year”.
