JUST 48 hours after performing her song 'Black Dahlia' on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, Cavan singer Aine Cahill saw it clock up 62,000 views on the Today FM Facebook page.
The song, inspired by the brutal, and still unsolved murder, of one Elisabeth Short, in Los Angeles in 1947, brought Cahill to national attention. The Cavan jazz and torch song singer-songwriter will perform 'Black Dahlia', and others, a her gig at Monroe’s Live on Thursday December 3 at 8pm, where she will be joined by her band Spam Turner.
Cahill has supported Duke Special, The Henry Girls, and Brendan McCahey, and played three gigs at this year’s Electric Picnic, the highlight being The Jerry Fish Sideshow stage where she packed out the tent. She recently appeared at The Cork Opera House as a guest of Jerry Fish. She has also released the EP, Paper Crown.
