EOIN DOLAN, the Galway singer-songwriter whose music fuses folk, surf-rock, and melodic pop, launches his new single, 'Something Good', with a show in Bell, Book and Candle, The Small Crane, this Saturday at 2pm.
'Something Good' is officially released today and will be streamed on Bandcamp, while later tonight, Eoin will play this, and other songs when he appears at a showcase for musicians, organised by Steven Sharpe, upstairs in the Róisín Dubh.
The recorded version, with its swirling synths, tinny guitar, and stomping bass line, sees Eoin accompanied by guitarist Conor Deasy (Biggles Flys Again/Tomorrows ); drummer James Casserly (The Wondertones ), and bassist Robin Van Der Klooster. The tracks reveals the diverse influences of Serge Gainsbourg, Super Furry Animals, and The Beach Boys.
Eoin released his well received debut EP, Placid Ocean, in 2014 and has since played the Breaking Tunes Music Trail, the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, and the MTV Crashes Cork Music Trail. This year he joined independent record label Citóg Records.
