The Abbey will hold a star-studded cabaret next month as part of its fundraising effort to improve and repair the church.
The Abbey is aiming to raise €150,000 for extensive repairs to the building’s interior including repainting, rewiring, new lighting, replastering, and damp proofing.
The Cabaret by the Bay, the first of a number of fundraising events, will take place in the Salthill Hotel on Wednesday December 2 and will feature a host of big names in entertainment both locally and nationally.
The evening will feature stars such as Brendan Shine, Johnny Carroll, TR Dallas, Marc Roberts, and The Conquerors. Jimmy Buckley, Shaun O’Dowd, John Hogan, Seán Costello and Frank Naughton of Duo Vocis, and Glór Tíre finalist Bernie Heaney will all feature at the event. MC for the night will be Don Colleran.
Tickets are €25 and are available from The Abbey Church, Des Kavanagh Electrical, Jaycee, Tom Dempsey Oranmore, the Salthill Hotel, and Salthill Post Office. All proceeds will go to the Abbey Church Restoration fund.
