County footballers to start season by flaking each other for charity

The Galway senior footballers, in association with the Galway Football Supporters Club, will hold a fundraising Big Fight Night on Saturday November 28 to raise funds to go towards the squad’s costs for the forthcoming season and for MS Ireland Galway.

The footballers are currently going through six weeks of intensive training in the Black Dragon Gym in the hands of Pete Foley. They will then be matched off which will result in 10 fights on the night — Footballer taking on fellow footballer. Think Paul Conroy vs Gary O Donnell or Finian Hanley vs Eddie Hoare and so on. It will be interesting!!

Along with raising monies for the footballing year ahead, the squad has also chosen MS Ireland Galway Office as their charity partner for this event. A portion of the funds raised will go to the MS Ireland Galway Office.

MS Ireland is the only charity that provides services to people with MS and their families locally and nationally and these much needed funds will go towards the continued provision of these services.

The Big FightNight take splace in The Clayton Hotel and promises to be a very entertaining night Enquiries and tickets are available from Joe Gorham, Galway Supporters Club (087 - 4561761 ); Mike Crowe, MS Ireland (087 - 2565540 ); and Mairead in The Clayton Hotel (091 - 721900 ), as well as from the players.
