Alban Berg’s opera Lulu at The Eye

LULU, ONE of opera's greatest and most dangerous femme fatales, will take audiences on a wild journey of love, obsession, and death when the eponymous opera by Alban Berg is screened in Galway.

Lulu, with German soprano Marlis Petersen in the title role, will be screened live from New York's Metropolitan Opera to The Eye Cinema, Wellpark, this Saturday at 5.30pm. The production has already been described as "spellbinding" by The Observer and "masterful" by The New York Times.

Set in Vienna, Paris, and London, Lulu dominates a wide range of willing victims, both male and female, and indulges in murder and blackmail along the way. The show will feature illustrations, video projections, and animations by director William Kentridge. The cast also features Susan Graham, Daniel Brenna, Paul Groves, and Franz Grundheber.
