British and Irish metal at The Cellar

Listen to stream of Unyielding Love's Demo 2015

THE BRITISH invented heavy metal, and the genre begun by Black Sabbath and taken in myriad directions by later acts, will be represented by very different British and Irish bands in The Cellar this Saturday.

Belfast's Unyielding Love, while relatively new to the scene, have attracted positive attention for their mix of raw grindcore, hardcore, and noise; lyrics dealing with personal struggles, existential anxiety, dissatisfaction, and frustration; and explosive stage presence.

Bournemouth's Knifedoutofexistence is the solo project of ex-Witchcult, current Swallowing, musician Dean Lloyd Robinson-Saunders, whose music combines ambient drones, sinister, whispered/mumbled vocals, and harsh noise.

Support is from Drogheda crust/punk/doom band Okus, black/death metallers Coscradh, and Galway hardcore band Overbite. The gig is organised by HexenHaus. Doors are at 8.30pm. Admission is €4.
