DES BISHOP is staring middle-age in the face, so does he go into denial or get hit hard by a serious dose of the male menopause and a mid-life crisis? No, as a great comedian, he sees in it instead the potential for comedy.
The fantasy of everlasting youth died with Des Bishop’s last purchase of Just For Men more than a year ago. Now he is embracing the grey and letting the wisdom of his years inspire his new stand-up show, Grey Matters, which he will perform in the Lough Rea Hotel, Loughrea, on Thursday December 3. The show returns to Galway in the new year, with Des playing the Town Hall Theatre on Friday March 18 and Saturday 19.
In the show he will go through everything the approach of middle-age can bring, and his restless imagination, openness, honesty and fast-talking, stand up style, combined with his insightful comic observations will ensure Grey Matters is a 'must-see' show.
Tickets for the Loughrea show are on sale from the Lough Rea Hotel (091 - 880088, www.loughreahotelandspa.com ) and Ticketstop.ie Tickets for the Town Hall show are through 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
