AHEAD OF the release of their new album, produced by Mercury Music Prize nominee Tim Holmes of Death In Vegas, Waterford band King Kong Company, are on an Irish tour, which takes in Galway this week.
The band plays the Róisín Dubh on Friday November 20 at 9pm and the band are promising something special when they hit the stage. "If you saw us over the summer at Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Castlepalooza, Vantastival, or Valentia Isle we’re at least 10 per cent better than we were then!" they said. "So if that’s not a reason to come see us maybe it’s time to take a long hard look at your life and ask yourself: Where did the session go?"

To some, King Kong Company have come from nowhere, to others, the debut album has been almost 20 years in the making. King Kong Company was formed in 1996 by a group of college friends, but eventually the band split. However a Wikipedia entry suggesting the band were reforming, led to such a reunion in 2010, and serious 'back in business' intent was shown when they released one new music video on YouTube every month in 2011.
