The A Capella Knights are holding their concert White Christmas: An Eclectic Mix of Festive Favourites on December 4 in aid of Galway Simon Community taking place at the Galway Cathedral at 7.45pm.
The local group has gathered some of Galway’s best voices for an evening of Christmas and traditional festive music in a colourful mix of a cappella vocals, instrumental, soloists, and choral music. Joining them on the evening are guest groups The Bluebirds, Galway Baytones, Gospel Wedding Choir and The Tribal Chamber Choir. The A Capella Knights member Francis Casey said their choice to support Galway Simon Community was an easy one.
“The current crisis is driving a lot of people into homelessness, many of whom never thought they would find themselves in that situation. It’s something that can affect anyone and we recognise the great work that Galway Simon Community are doing across the county to tackle this issue.
Assisting with the concert is the Salthill Rotary club who run the “Kick the Wall” initiative on Salthill Prom in aid of local charities. Galway Simon Community will be the beneficiary of this initiative in the run up to Christmas.Tickets cost €10 and can be bought from Galway Simon Community’s office on the Tuam Road and their two charity shops in Briarhill and on Sea Road.
All proceeds from the concert will be going to Galway Simon Community who work with those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. For more information, contact Galway Simon Community on 091 381828 or follow the band’s Facebook page The A-Capella Knights.
