Find clothing, furniture, and homewares at O’Toole’s Department Store Tuam

Headford natives Joe and Helen O’Toole first came to Tuam in 1967 and opened a supermarket on Bishop St. The late Mrs O’Toole always had an eye for fashion and it was her inspiration that led to a fashion house/drapery opening over the supermarket.

At this time the store sold women's, teens, and children’s clothes. In the 1980s, the supermarket moved across the carpark to its present location and "The ‘Drapery’ as it was known was reborn over two floors with an expanded range and new departments.

Over the years, the business evolved to become a small family run department store. In spring the store was relaunched by TV personality Neville Knott following a major revamp and remodelling in 2014. Today stock includes light furniture and soft furnishings upstairs, and women's underwear, childrenswear, giftware, rugs, hardware, lighting and delph downstairs. In fact you never know what you would find on sale at O’Toole’s Department Store, which has become renowned for having unusual items for the home and family.

It is definitely worth a visit ahead of the Christmas season as the store has just unveiled its Christmas gifting and ornament range. Put O'Toole’s on your to do list this autumn and winter. You will be welcomed by experienced and inspired local staff, who will be glad to assist you.

O’Toole’s have over 300 extra wide car parking spaces.
