IRISH REGGAE singer-songwriter Cian Finn launches his new album, This Applies, with a gig at The Commercial Boat Club, Woodquay, this Saturday, joined by Rootical Sound System, Ras Tinny, Revelation Sound, and Aminah Dastan.
This debut album by the former Intinn front man, mixes Irish and Jamaican musical styles and blends the vintage with the contemporary.
Produced by Prince Fatty, the album was recorded with respected reggae musicians Horseman, Black Steel, Digistep (Dubkasm ), and Leroy Horns (Roots Garden/Resonators ), and feature guest vocals by Hollie Cooke, Dub Judah, while Cian duets with Max Romeo on the title track, which extols the virtues of living a conscious and positive lifestyle. The album's upbeat message also propells the opening track ‘So Nice’, where Cian sings, "buckle your seat belt and enjoy the flight”. One of the more unusual songs is ‘Live Live’, with Cian accompanied solely by an Irish harp, by Catríona Cannon.
