The healthcare sector in Ireland has witnessed significant changes in the past 10 years. Increased regulation now means carers and healthcare workers are required to obtain FETAC/QQI accredited courses to work in the care sector.
HealthSET is a Galway based accredited healthcare training company specialising in a range of QQI level 5 healthcare courses. Its QQI courses are taught by highly experienced registered nurses which allows learners to gain access to up-to-date clinical practices. Currently, the minimal requirement to work in the private home care sector is QQI level 5 care of the older person and QQI level 5 care skills. Care skills starts Thursday November 12 and care of the older person starts Monday November 2 in the Ballybane Enterprise Centre, Galway. These comprehensive part time courses are delivered over five days.
In addition, HealthSET is now offering QQI/FETAC Level 5 infection control and prevention starting on Saturday November 7. This practical based course is ideal for care workers working in clinical environments.
