ITALIAN FILM Mi Madre, about a director struggling to make a new film while her family enters crises, will be screened by the Galway Film Society in the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday at 8pm.
Margherita is midway through shooting a movie about factory workers staging a protest against the new owner’s planned layoffs. The drama on set is mirrored in her own life as she is recently divorced; her teenage daughter has just broken up with her boyfriend; and her mother is in hospital. Film-making at least represents a chance to get away from the stresses of real life.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
