Mná Mná Music moves to Mondays

Next installment of event championing emerging female talent takes place tonight

Mná Mná Music, the monthly event in the upstairs bar of the Róisín Dubh has moved to Mondays, with the first installment taking place this evening at 8.30pm and featuring Stacey Nolan, Karen Alice Dunbar, and I Am Niamh!

I AM NIAMH comprises Dublin based solo project of avant garde musician, classically trained vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Niamh Parkinson. Using voice, cello, digital piano, percussive instruments, and blends them together with a loop pedal to create a complex palette of sounds. She released her debut album, Wonderland, last May, and saw it win critical acclaim.

Nialler 9 declared it a “pleasing slice of vocal-lead orchestral pop”; The Sunday Business Post called it "a brave and delightfully offbeat record”; The Irish Times said it was “very contemporary classically-informed chamber pop”; Hot Press described Niamh as "a multi talented artist for the future"; while Goldenplec said she was "talented beyond belief".

Wexford folk singer Karen Alice Dunbar has been performing her songs for several years around Wexford, Dublin, Cork, and now Galway. Her song 'Waiting For Your Love', was runner up in RTÉ The Hit songwriting contest in 2013 when it was selected by Mundy for consideration. Her influences include roots, country, folk, blues, pop, and Irish trad.

Support is from Galway singer-songwriter Stacy Nolan, who has been described by Hot Press as having "uniquely soulful and frankly exquisite vocal stylings", and who has shared the stage with The Waterboys and performed on RTÉ Radio 1's Arena as part of the Cúirt International Literature Festival.

MNÁ MNÁ is produced and curated by award-winning singer-songwriter Niceol Blue. Admission is €5.
