DUBLIN GARAGE and blues-rock trio The Minutes, who, according to DJ Rob Smith are "one of, if not then the finest rock & roll band to have ever come out of Ireland", play Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh tonight at 10.30pm.
The band - Mark Austin, Tom Cosgrave, and Shane Kinsella - formed in 2006, and released their debut album, Marcata in 2011, as well as playing Other Voices and The Saturday Night Show on RTÉ. In 2012 they played the Eurosonic Festival in 2012 and over the years they have supported The Strokes's Albert Hammond Jnr, Supergrass, Flogging Molly, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in Belfast.
Their second album, Live Well, Change Often, came out in 2014, and according to the band, deals with "the reality of being in a rock 'n' roll band in the 21st Century, the hopes and the dreams, tempered with the shadows and illusions". It produced the singles 'Cherrry Bomb' and 'Hold Your Hand'. January saw the release of the most recent single, 'Supernatural'.
