Amid the hurling action taking place off the field over the past five days, the real action continues on the field of play this weekend in the county senior quarter-finals.
Probably the pick of the four games will be the meeting of current champions Gort and their predecessors Portumna in a repeat of last year’s final, Sunday at 12 noon in Kenny Park.
Elsewhere Loughrea will take on the 2013 All-Ireland club champions St Thomas in another quarter-final, with Craughwell meeting city side Liam Mellowes and former All-Ireland champions Sarsfields taking on near neighbours Padraig Pearses.
All games are on at Kenny Park.
On Saturday - Craughwell take on Liam Mellows at 3pm. That game is followed by Loughrea v St Thomas (4.30pm ). Sunday: Gort v Portumna (noon ) and then at 1.30pm, Padraig Pearses v Sarsfields.
