NUIG Mystics, having opened their 2015/16 basketball campaign with a 62-32 home victory, now face ITC Carlow in Saturday's women's division one competition.
Mystics, with a full squad, enjoyed a comfortable victory over MC Hawks Kilkenny on Saturday in the Kingfisher Gym.
Marritta Gilchreese hit two from inside to kickstart the tally, and with Michelle Fahy, Siobhaun Kilkenny and Lauren Murray all finding their range, Mystics edged the quarter by 19-15.
Stepping up the intensity in their defence in the second quarter, Mystics introduced Ailish O'Reilly, Leah Cunningham, Catherine Connaire and Kate Lyons who held Kilkenny scoreless in the second, and although the visitors rallied in the third, NUIG's dominance was too strong, leading by 43-22 heading into the last quarter.
Suzanne McDonagh, Emer Smyth and Aoibhin O'Neill saw action in the fourth, contributing to an overall good team performance.
Mystics are away for the next two weekends, first to ITC Carlow and then Tralee Imperials before a home double-header on October 24 and 25.
